Basket of blooms

I love flowers and I love baskets... especially together! And the little bird is like a cherry (blueberry?) on top.... The main image stamp belongs to Linda and I stamped a few last time I visited. The sentiment is from this year's SAB set called So Happy for You.

I wonder, which photo do you like better? I took this by mistake with the flash but I decided to see how it looks in the blog compared to the regular light I usually use. It's not as harsh as most of the flash photos I've (mistakenly) shot; maybe the soft blue color didn't bounce the light so much... Speaking of colors, I've used Pool Party with Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder. I also used Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand for the basket, blended a little with a blender pen.

I colored the image with my SU markers this time, using a couple of hints I've gotten from Linda and even though it's not as nice or as polished as the one I did with Copics, I still like the coloring a lot and I love having the new In Color markers.

I frayed the edges of the Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon and added buttons from PTI.

A linen thread French knot ties up this little flower.

I hope you're enjoying a basket of your own blooms!

Spring song

This sweet and simple card reminds me of what is going on outside these last few days: bright blue skies, birds singing all around, flowers everywhere! Well, there's only one flower on my card, but it's got pride of place. It's made with several layers of felt cut with a small flower die - it's pretty thick so it might be best to hand-deliver this one. And I really like that texture plate on the Pear Pizzazz; it adds a nice subtle background.

I love this stamp set (I've had it on loan for quite a long time waiting for inspiration) and I finally made several, similar cards, with different sentiments and slightly different designs. (I'll be glad when I get another copy of the catalog - mine has been missing for months - so I can reference the correct name.)

I look forward to hearing more songbirds tomorrow!

The greatest gift

This is a thank-you card I made last year for my children's teachers. It's so simple but elegant (in Eggplant) and the sentiment is very appropriate for teachers who give so much of themselves. The inside reads "Thanks for ALL you do!" I like the symmetry of the three squares and I think the embossed background is a good match.
