PTI January blogger challenge

This little card was definitely one of my favorites this year. (See the original post here: It's a small card made with PTI's Mat Stack 3, using the Mega Mat Stack 3 for the card base (by placing the fold just inside the cutting edge) and stamped with Wreath for All Seasons and 2010 Holiday Tags, both also from PTI.
When I wanted to make a thank-you card for my gracious and generous brother-in-law, I decided to alter the shape a little to look like a stone gate. I impressed the Sahara Sand card stock with a Fiskars embossing plate and then sponged Crumb Cake ink on it to bring out the texture. A simple latch made of (retired) Hardware Hodgepodge tied with a bit of twine finishes this unfussy card.
The sentiment is from a (retired) set called In My Thoughts; it fit the bill perfectly.
This idea was knocking around in my imagination for some time before I figured out how to bring it to life. As simple as it turned out, it was fun and so satisfying to see it take shape.
