Recently, a dear friend from my past died unexpectedly. Dick was the father of three children for whom I was the live-in caregiver for three years. (They called me their "other mother"!) I have been out of touch with them for many years, and now, even though they are grown adults, my heart aches for the loss of their parents (their sweet mother died three years ago). I understand intimately the feeling of being a motherless (and fatherless) child, and I wanted to reach out across the years to let them know they are in my heart.
This card is simple and sincere, with just the barest touch of decoration in the form of the Square Lattice embossed card base, the quilted Early Espresso ribbon and the brad I made using a Build-a-Brad with a little Wisteria Wonder flower.
I inked the tree stamp with Crumb Cake and Old Olive markers, and the sentiment with Early Espresso. The inside reads "Please know that I care."
I hope this reminder that I care about them brings comfort to my dear "other" children.
This is perfect. The dark brown ribbon is great with it's texture and neat lines. hope you have a great day with the kids. See you soon.
